"Serious Fun Means Exotic Locations"

Got Big Fish...You Bet!  If you are looking for something different than most Caribbean diving such as large pelagics, then this trip is for you!

Established in 1995 the Cabo Pulmo Marine Park in the Sea of Cortez is often ignored by divers because of the belief that the water temperatures are cold, below 75 degrees and the visibility is poor; which is only partially true.

In the fall, August through November the water temperatures reach 78 - 85 degrees with visibility at 40 - 100 feet! With the abundance of big and small critters and the only hard coral reef in the Sea of Cortez you have one of the best dive destinations in the world. This location was once called the "World's Aquarium" and "Galapagos of North America" by Captain Jacques Cousteau.

MantasWe will be staying at the Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort.  Along the unspoiled white sand beaches which border the azure blue waters of the Sea of Cortez, Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort earns its name as the "Jewel of East Cape", in Mexico's beautiful Baja Peninsula. An oasis fed by clear natural hot springs, the lush tropical landscaping of palm tress and exotic flowers provides the backdrop for a perfect getaway offering a complete relaxation, active adventure, or a little of both.

Hotel Buena Vista's wide variety of eco, adventure and city tours will knock your socks off.  By car or ATV, visit hidden tropical oases, waterfalls, hot springs, lush plantations and see amazing birds and other wildlife, along with ancient Indian rock paintings, crumbling Spanish missions and museums. Take a shopping or nightlife tour to La Paz or Cabo. Charter a boat to a deserted bay with a top notch restaurant. Go to our zoo … or go golfing.

As you can see diving isn't the only reason to join this adventure, however, it sure is a great one.  We will be diving with Vista Sea Sport.  They were recently written up in Undercurrent Magazine and received a great recommendation.

Here are some comments written by Frank Goddard describing the picture to the left which was taken while diving with Vista Sea Sport.  "While en route to our dive spot, we were marveling at the magnificent sight of the massive numbers of manta rays. The dozens we estimated that were flying out of the water at any given time was absolutely paled by, what we could only conjecture, was tens of thousands swimming by underwater.  Whoa, you may be saying–if you were apt to say “whoa.” How could we come up with such an outlandish number?  The water clarity–or the visibility, as the divers call it–is usually enough in this area that you can see the ocean floor. Except this day, you couldn’t."  There were so many hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands–obviously we did not actually count all of them–that as we peered over the edge of the dive boat, all you could see was what looked like a movie reel on a continuous loop of parading rays; one after another after another. They seemed to be never ending.

Scuba Diving magazine recently had this to say about the Sea Of Cortez.  "Everything is bigger in Baja.  The peninsula spans nearly 800 miles from California to Cabo San Lucas, hanging from the Golden State like a long, bony arm.  the marine life is bigger here, too, including whale sharks, giant manta rays, dolphins and schools of sharks.  The Sea of Cortez contains a microcosm of Pacific marine life.  750 species in all, including whales, sharks, mantas and sea lions."

Don't miss this great opportunity for a bigger kind of diving.  A $265 deposit is required to ensure your spot on this great adventure.  A payment schedule will be established for the balance over the upcoming months.
